Rail transport anti-collision system

Anti-Collision System

  • Designed for trams, trains, and other public transit, the Anti-Collision System prevents accidents by AI video analysis of vehicle’s surroundings.
  • Machine learning and neural networks segment the environment and recognize objects near the vehicle to assess the accident risk.
  • The system detects both moving elements, such as pedestrians, vehicles, or animals, and stationary obstacles on tracks.
  • By calculating collision risk levels, it alerts drivers on possible accidents and can initiate automatic braking in high-risk scenarios.
  • When combined with the CAB Radio VS87’s remote STOP feature, the system boosts automation in collision avoidance.

Basic description

The Anti-Collision System enhances accident prevention for rail vehicles, including trams, trains, and other forms of public transport. Continuously monitoring the surroundings and performing risk assessment analysis, the system ensures safer operations.

Using advanced machine learning and neural networks, the system segments the environment and identifies objects around the vehicle. It detects moving elements, such as people, cars, or animals, and stationary obstacles on the railway. Furthermore, by calculating collision risks, the system provides alerts to drivers about potential hazards. In high-risk situations, it can even automatically stop the vehicle, offering an additional layer of safety and reliability.

When integrated with the CAB Radio VS87’s remote STOP functionality, the system increases level of automation of collision avoidance for safer railway operation.
