The HORNET UGV is a lightweight, autonomous ground robot designed primarily for logistical missions but versatile enough to support roles in combat, ISR, medical, and CBRN operations. Its advanced autonomous control system enables automated navigation and decision-making, even in unfamiliar terrain, ensuring optimal route calculation and effective obstacle avoidance.
The HORNET’s navigation capabilities are powered by a combination of LiDAR, an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), environmental terrain segmentation, and object recognition. Additionally, its autonomy system fuses data from all sensors, allowing the robot to navigate to preset waypoints without requiring prior environmental mapping. For operation in GNSS-denied environments, the HORNET is seamlessly integrated with an inertial navigation system, ensuring reliable performance in challenging conditions.
The HORNET UGV also integrates with the Multispectral Imaging Systems for enhanced surveillance mission capabilities.
